  • Brand profile information: company name, industry, website, logo, product descriptions
  • Opportunity information: descriptions, compensation terms, deliverable requirements
  • Submission content: files, photos, videos, and notes submitted as proof of completed work
  • Payment information: processed securely through Stripe — we do not store full payment card details; payout information for student Stripe Connect accounts

  • Referral data: referral codes and relationships between referring and referred users

Information collected automatically:

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your account
  • Match students with brand opportunities based on profile attributes, location, and Greek affiliation
  • Process payments and manage escrow through Stripe
  • Display your public profile to other users (brands see student profiles; students see brand profiles)
  • Resolve disputes between users
  • Send transactional communications (opportunity updates, submission status, account notifications)
  • Track referral relationships and calculate bonus payouts
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Improve and develop the Platform
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only as follows:

  • With other users: Your public profile information is visible to other logged-in users on the Platform. Submission content and messages are visible only to the Brand and Student party to that opportunity, and to Proxoso Support when handling disputes.
  • With service providers: We use Supabase (database and file storage), Stripe (payment processing and payouts), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (transactional email). These providers process your data only to provide their services to us and are bound by appropriate data protection agreements.
  • For legal compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Proxoso, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: If Proxoso is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase and Vercel, located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and row-level security on our database.

Uploaded files (profile photos, submission files, verification documents) are stored in Supabase Storage. Private documents are accessible only via time-limited signed URLs.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes.

Opportunity records (including submissions and transaction history) may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and financial record-keeping purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information (most profile data can be updated directly in the Platform)
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal information
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@proxoso.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent certain Platform features from working correctly.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their information promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at support@proxoso.com.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@proxoso.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
